Mayor gives stamp of approval to new look Melton Post Office branch

Mayor of Melton Jeanne Douglas gave her stamp of approval to the town's new Post Office branch by cutting the ribbon at its official opening ceremony yesterday (Wednesday).

The new branch on Sherrard Street, based inside the Bargain Booze store, is open from 7am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 10pm on Sundays.

The mayor said: “The Post Office is vital to our community and I’m sure the new improved office, and the longer opening hours and great local service, will be warmly welcomed by all people.”

Postmaster Amarjit Singh said: “I hope our customers like their new look branch. I’d like to thank the mayor for taking time from her busy schedule to attend the official opening and I’d also like to thank the local community for their continued support and use of the branch.”
