Kelsie's head shave to raise funds for charity

Kelsie Claricoats (17), who lives in Bottesford and attends Grantham College is hoping to raise funds by having her long locks shaved off at The Bull Inn, in Bottesford on Saturday.

This will be the first time that Kelsie has cut her hair properly since 2006.

Kelsie is hoping to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and plans to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes real hair wigs for children have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Her mum Sue Claricoats said: “Sadly, Kelsie has already known friends and family who have been effected by cancer including her grandad, uncle and friend Rachel.

“So far Kelsie has raised £400 online and around £100 in sponsors. She is also going to be charging people on the day to snip bits of her hair off which should raise some extra cash.

“I’m really proud of Kelsie for doing this for charity but I also think she’s mad for wanting to lose all her hair."
