Have your say on housing and town bypass options

THURSDAY 10.45AMMelton Council's vision and planning strategy for the borough through to 2026 is being put out to consultation.

The Melton Local Development Core Strategy covers the broad location of development and includes policies for housing, business, retail and transport.

The strategy sets out four housing options to cater for about 1,000 new homes on the outskirts of Melton, estates which would release developer funding towards a bypass or ring road.

The document is available to view at the council offices, at Melton and Bottesford libraries, the county mobile library and post offices in villages throughout the borough.

A special edition of the council's newsletter Melton Mail will also be distributed to every household and a summary document is available to download from the council's website.

A number of public meetings are also planned, on February 18 at Sandy Lane Methodist Church, on March 3 at the Sarson Centre in Burton Road, and on March 4 at John Ferneley High School in Scalford Road. All meetings will start at 7pm.
