She said: “I really want to bring this exciting and fun site to the attention of local people. It’s

the area’s resource for all things community, from meeting new people to finding the club or society for you - and it’s not just for grans! Grandparent or not we welcome all over 50s (and under 50s for that matter!) who’d like to get involved.

“I really believe the site is a great way for people, who might otherwise be a bit isolated, to connect with others nearby. It’s a great way of relieving social isolation, sharing information, making friends and having fun.

“I’ve been busy loading information about local businesses in Melton and the surrounding area which I have gleaned from websites but I am keen to include many more.

“Local businesses can add their details to the sites for free and there are advertising spaces available as well as opportunities to hold competitions and special offers in partnership with the site. It’s the perfect way to connect with the over 50s demographic.

“As A hub of information we aim to point residents in the direction of anything and everything of interest in their area.

“I’d really love to make this site a buzzing space but we need more members so please tell your friends and visit this site as well as the main site regularly. It would be really great if you could add the occasional listing, especially about things to do and places to see in Leicestershire.”
