A party to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday was held at Age UK's Gloucester.

Around 70 older people of Melton attended for tea and cake, a sing a long, and plenty of flag waving.

The event was sponsored by the Melton Lions Club and members of staff from the town’s Santander branch volunteered to help.

Resource centre manager Rhonda Fazackerley said: “It was a lovely morning, and it was so great to see the local older community coming together to celebrate this important occasion.

“I would like to thank the Melton Lions for their support, which enabled us to hold the party for free.”
