Garden of reflection for heroes

THURSDAY 3PM: A Whissendine landscaper built a garden of reflection at RAF Honington.

Jonny Baker had made a show garden for Sandringham Flower Show and was asked by Royal Air Force officials to make somewhere people could remember fallen comrades from the RAF Regiment.

Jonny, who runs Farm and Garden Ltd, said: "The RAF was let down a bit so my father in law got in touch and we decided to make this garden of reflection for them completely free of charge.

"Sadly we've not been able to finish because of the weather and we are looking for donations towards planting."

The garden has several benches, donated by John Shone, Louise Keeley and Tom Askew from Rutland Willows in Ashwell while the paving was donated by a Nottingham firm and William Hercock in Melton.

They were also helped by C and G Landscapers.

Anyone who wishes to make a donation towards the plants to be put in at RAF Honington in Suffolk should contact Jonny on 07802 655626.
