Firefighters tackle blaze behind Melton pub

Firefighters have been dealing with a blaze behind a Melton town centre pub this afternoon (Wednesday).

The incident involved a shed to the rear of The Cutting Room, on St Marys Way, at 3.45pm.

Two crews from the town fire station attended the scene and they used a hose reel to battle the flames.

A Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Several calls were received to reports of an outdoor wooden structure involved in fire at rear of The Cutting Room public house.

“Smoke and fire had spread to the adjacent property.

“There were no casualties in the incident.”
