Unsafe fishing platforms removed by Melton and Oakham Waterways boat team
Two fishing platforms deemed unsafe for use were successfully removed by the Melton and Oakham Waterways (MOWS) boat team on Sunday (April 17) during one of its weekly working parties on the Melton waterway ring.
The platforms, built for use by disabled anglers on the bank of the canal in Egerton Park, were both found to be unsafe following a recent inspection both at bank and water level.
The Melton Mowbray Town Estate asked for assistance from MOWS with their boat and crew and the job was completed successfully.

“We understand the Town Estate is considering the siting of a new and more accessible platform for disabled anglers.”
