Celebrating our parks in pictures

NEXT time you go down to Melton’s parks to enjoy a 
little summer sunshine take your camera with you.

For the Town Estate is running a photographic competition called In Your Parks, and there are some 
fantastic prizes to be won.

The Melton Times is supporting the initiative and a selection of 
entries will be featured in the paper.
Your pictures will also be 
considered for inclusion in our 2011 calendar.

Photographs can be taken in any of these parks or sports grounds:-

l Play Close

l Priors Close

l New Park

l Wilton Park

l Egerton Park

l Memorial Gardens

l All England Ground

lAsfordby Road Sports Ground

The competition is open to 
people of all ages with a first and second prize in each of two 
categories, under 18s and over 18s.

The prizes are being sponsored by Derek Whitehouse and Sarah Browne of Derek Whitehouse 
Photography.

The winners will received a 
professional family portrait taken on location in the parks and turned into a piece of canvas artwork. The runner-up in each category will 
receive a canvas of their entry 
photograph.

Derek and Sarah said: “We will create joyful contemporary 
pictures which show of the beauty of the parks and landmarks such as St Mary’s Church and the Bandstand. They will be very special prizes so we want everyone to get their cameras clicking now.”

All entries, up to A4 in size and limited to a maximum of three per person, must be submitted by noon on August 6. Unfortunately no children can feature in any 
photographs.
