Enter Rotary Young Writer competition
The annual event, run by the combined youth committees of the Rotary Club of Melton Belvoir and the Melton club, recognises young people’s writing skills.
The winner, or winning school if it’s a school entry, will receive an engraved trophy and medal. All entrants will also receive a certificate.
This year’s theme is ‘Our World is Beautiful.’

Hide AdRotarian Eric Sylt said: “Entrants should think about what makes the world beautiful to them and this might even be how it is seen from space.
“Entries are to be a piece of prose on one side of A4 paper. They can be hand written or word processed.”
The three age groups are junior (aged 7-10), Intermediate (aged 11-13) and Senior (aged 14-17). All categories will be judged on August 31.
Entries can be a piece of classwork written at school, a piece of school homework, or an individual entry written at home, but they must reflect the theme. All entries should clearly state that the work is the work of the entrant.
