Jessica said: “I believe this is just what the town needs, a bit of a jump start to bring life back. There are a few places in Melton which are doing great with supporting local musicians and catering for specific genres – but it’s an older generation.
“I’ve done my research and most people are calling out for something more, craving a bit of excitement too. I’ve been a music journalist for the past four years and within that time it’s led me to work with some fantastic artists both very famous and up and coming. I’d like to bring those acts that I’m writing about closer to the people of Leicestershire and I just can’t wait to launch my live music nights with DJ Spoony!”

Hide AdDJ Spoony is 1/3 of ‘90’s garage group The Dreem Teem. They were ground-breaking in the garage genre and sold out venues across the UK and Europe. Following that success DJ Spoony went on to become a host on Radio 1 and Radio 5 live, appeared on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and won ‘Celebrity Mastermind’.
“Securing someone like DJ Spoony is mindblowing to me, he’s DJ’d for The Beckhams and Sir Alex Ferguson so to have him here in Melton Mowbray is a huge deal for me,” said Jessica. “I just want to provide great entertainment nights, not every event will be as big as this one, it all depends on who is available at what time.
“My passion though are the up and coming stars who are about to break-through, I’m in talks with many of them coming to play at the Kings Head. I want people to hear them in the charts and excitedly tell their friends and work colleagues that they saw ‘said act’ in Melton Mowbray. I want to put the town on the map in a huge way.

It’s going to be amazing and the best part is that Friday will be Good Friday so fingers crossed most people won’t have to work.”
