The grey Vauxhall Astra was left in Whissendine Road at Leesthorpe earlier this month shortly after being seen travelling at excessive speeds and in a dangerous manner in the Oakham area.

Two men - one aged 23 and the other aged 25 - were arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol near the scene of where the car was abandoned on the night of the reports, which were made between 7.20pm and 7.30pm on December 6. Both have been released under investigation.

“We appreciate a few weeks have passed since this report but are asking anyone with CCTV footage or dashcam footage from the area at the time to check this and make contact if you have not already done so.”
