Police release image of man following badger sett incident at Old Dalby

Police have released an image of a man they believe can help with their investigation into an incident of a badger sett being tampered with at Old Dalby.

They have described the filling in of the sett. which happened sometime overnight on Monday December 9, as ‘an act of appalling cruelty’.

Since the incident was reported to the police, enquiries have been carried out to determine who was responsible.

Officers are now releasing an image of the man in the hope that someone will recognise him and come forward.

Pc Joe Lloyd, who is investigating for the Melton and Rutland Neighbourhood Police Area, said: “Filling in a badger sett is not only an act of appalling cruelty it is also a criminal offence and we are determined to find who was responsible.

“We believe the man captured in this image may have vital information to assist with our enquiries.

“Do you recognise yourself from this picture? Do you think you know who it might be?”
