Melton plumber jailed after horrifying rape attack
Jason Murty (41), of Irwell Close, carried out the horrifying 11-hour attack in Birmingham on February 20 this year.
West Midlands Police say Murty kicked, punched and spat at the victim and also threatened her with a drill bit before he wrapped his hands around her neck in an attempt to choke her.

Hide AdMurty, who had been out drinking earlier in the evening, eventually passed out, giving the woman an opportunity to call for help.
Officers arrested him at the scene and the woman was immediately safeguarded.
Murty appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on August 21, where he was found guilty of rape, sexual assault and causing actual bodily harm.
As he was sentenced to 12 years in prison, Judge Buckingham told Murty that he had shown ‘a total lack of regard for women’.
