Melton man jailed after admitting burglary and thefts

Andrew Batsford (33), of Rutland Street, Melton, pleaded guilty to stealing a till and cash from a health care store in Leicester on February 16, stealing a tips cup containing about £10 in cash from Melton’s Costa Coffee shop on February 28 and stealing a quantity of baby milk from Melton’s One Stop store on March 7. Batsford was jailed for 26 weeks and ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.

Carol Roberts (43), of Bramley Close, Melton, admitted having 17 small bags of cannabis in her possession in Melton on September 30. She was discharged conditionally for 12 months, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Stephen Vallance (38), of London Road, Leicester, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman at a property on Gloucester Crescent, Melton, on January 30. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and made subject of a six-month restraining order not to go to the property unless on two separate occasions, in the company of a friend, to collect personal property. Vallance was also ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £120 costs.

Jessica White (22), of Brockington Road, Melton, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Melton on December 21. She was fined £80, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £40 costs.

Jordan Godfrey (20), of Woolsthorpe Lane, Muston, pleaded guilty to wilfully obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty in Woolsthorpe Lane, Muston, on January 19. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Anthony Carter (65), of Canal Lane, Long Clawson, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a condition subject to which a shotgun certificate was held by him on November 22. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
