Melton man charged after armed police incident
A 44-year-old Melton man faces a court hearing after armed police were deployed to a block of flats in the town.
Grzegorz Nikolajuk, of Dorian Rise, has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm in a public place following an incident in Melton last week.
Leicestershire Police say Nikolajuk has been released on bail and is due to appear at Loughborough Magistrates’ Court on July 23.
A spokesman said: “The charge relates to an incident on the evening of Thursday July 8 when officers attended an address in Beckmill Court, Melton.No-one was injured during the incident.”
