Assault, damage and weapons charges for Melton man

Cameron Smith, of Mill Street, denied committing the crimes when he appeared before Loughborough magistrates’ court.

Smith is said to have damaged a woman’s car, assaulted a man by beating him and having with him both a hammer and a Stanley knife.

The offences were all said to have been committed on July 31 in Mill Street in Melton.

The case was sent for trial at Leicester Crown Court on September 25 and Smith must not make contact with either of the named witnesses.
