The fully restored maroon 1955 James Comet motorbike was taken, along with two chainsaws, from the Charnwood Avenue area between 4pm on Tuesday, January 12 and 8.30am the following day.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “The victim has dedicated a long time restoring the motorbike and has been left upset at the prospect that all his hard work has been for nothing.

“Take a look at the picture and if you know where the motorbike may be or who was responsible please contact 101.”
