Another burglary suspect arrested in Melton

Police have arrested another man following a recent spate of burglaries in Melton.

Mark Anderson, who is 31, appeared before magistrates on Monday and was remanded in custody until August 30.

He is charged with burglaries committed at properties in Greenslade and Jubilee Street in the town on July 25.

Anderson, who is of no fixed abode, is also accused of a theft from a shop on Valley Road, Melton, on July 22.

Police revealed last week they had charged four men suspected of a series of break-ins and thefts.

l Two people have been charged in connection with the growing of canabis in the Dalby Road area of Melton.

Insp Iain Wakelam, of Melton police said: “This incident involved around 10 canabis plants and we relied on community intelligence.”
