The event, held on Saturday from 9am to 11.30am, raised £813 for the fund - topping last year’s figure.

A raffle, featuring prizes donated mainly by the residents, raised £225 of the total. More money was raised from the bric-a-brac sale and ‘bottle stall’, cake stall with homemade preserves and a special thanks goes to the Knit and Natter group for its stall and tombola. Refreshments were also available to visitors on the day.

Peter Smith, chairman of the Bradgate Flats residents’ social committee, would like to thank everyone who supported the event and made donations. He said some of the money was being considered to be spent on new garden furniture for the benefit of the residents.
