Children were given the opportunity to learn about Transformers and share some of their New Year’s resolutions, which will be opened at the April activities morning to see if they have been carried out.

There was also the chance for youngsters to enjoy a snowball fight as well as take part in a quiz, face painting, mask making, book swap and giant board games.

Phil Balding, spokesman for the church said: “One young man, Bertie Long, aged four, got quite a surprise as he neared the church in his Christmas present - a Bumblebee Transformer costume. For it was then that he realised that he would be able to come face-to-face with the Bumblebee Transformer.

“All who attended were able to complete a square for a memorial quilt which is being put together throughout the year at our activities mornings.”

The next two St Mary’s Church activities mornings will be held on Saturday, February 13 and March 19.
