A bus operator is making some big changes to its Melton town services from next Sunday (February 14) which it says are due to low passenger numbers and a review of its network.

The current Centrebus number 16, 17 and 18 services will be withdrawn, with revised routes and timetables coming into effect for the number 14 and 15 services.

Centrebus commercial manager Bijel Mistry said: “Centrebus have been working in partnership with Leicestershire County Council to review the Melton town services that we currently operate.

“There are some big changes being made to the Melton town network on Sunday, February 14, which includes changes to the 14 and 15 route and timetable.

“Part of Melbray Drive and Tennyson Way (which is currently served on the 16 route) has been incorporated into the revised 15 timetable and Grange Drive (which is currently on the 17 route) has been merged into the revised timetable for the 14. The current 16, 17 and 18 will no longer operate.

He added: “We are pleased to report that Leicestershire County Council has provided funding for the continuation of a Saturday service in the town centre for the revised 14 and 15 services mentioned above. “Full details of the changes can be found on our website www.centrebus.info and service change notices have been displayed on bus and at roadside advising customers of the upcoming changes to the Melton town network.”
