Television personality Jake Quickenden to host free Melton family event

Jake rose to fame as a contestant on the X Factor singing show before becoming a star of some of the biggest reality TV shows, including I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! and Dancing On Ice, which he won in 2018 with professional skater Vanessa Bauer.

He will be at QD Stores, on Scalford Road, between 10am and 2pm, as families and football fans get the chance to test their skills in penalty shootout challenges, enjoy giveaways and games plus enter a prize draw to win a £250 gift voucher for the discount chain.

Jake played semi-professional football at a good level in his younger years and he is currently starring in the new series of BBC hit football drama, Jamie Johnson FC, which follows the dreams and challenges of footballers in a fictional youth academy.

He will be joining shoppers throughout the day at the Melton event, which has been organised to help ramp up excitement ahead of the FIFA World Cup, which starts next month.

No booking is required and everyone is welcome, with prizes on offer for the first 200 people taking part.

The £250 QD Stores gift voucher is being offered as a prize through the retailer’s new ‘Game Day Wins’ campaign, a celebration designed to reward football fans throughout the tournament.

Alongside the activities, shoppers can browse QD Stores’ range of football and home-hosting essentials, helping families get match-ready for a huge summer of sport.
