Dogs have always been a part of life on the Belvoir Easter and members of the Manners family have several four-legged friends, including the Duchess of Rutland’s shih-tzu who can often be spotted around the castle grounds.

Emma Manners, Duchess of Rutland and CEO of Belvoir Castle, commented: ““We’re so pleased to welcome this dog boutique to the Belvoir Retail Village.

"Dogs have always been at the heart of our family, so creating a space that celebrates them in a thoughtful, elevated way has been incredibly important.

"Every detail has been carefully curated, from beautifully crafted accessories to our range of organic dog treats, all chosen with quality, wellbeing and a little bit of indulgence in mind.

"I’d also like to thank my Instagram followers who helped choose the name of the shop and have been so supportive every step of the way.”

Offering a range of luxury and dog treats items over two floors, the Belvoir Barkery sells a range of goods, from Norfolk Doggy Deli’s natural treats and premium accessories by The Foggy Dog to toys from Lambwolf Collective and plush beds from Ralph & Co.

Amelia Palfreyman, head of retail at the castle said: “So many households have dogs that they adore and are truly part of the family, so we wanted to reflect how much people love them through this new shop.

"People come from far and near to explore the beautiful Leicestershire countryside with their furry friends.

"The idea behind Belvoir Barkery is to create a space where every dog is welcome to enjoy a bit of luxury, whether they’ve just completed a long walk around Belvoir’s outstanding grounds, or popped down with their owners for a cup of coffee in the Retail Village.”

To support dog walkers and ramblers alike, Belvoir Castle has recently released new maps of walking routes through the Estate.

Each map has been carefully illustrated by local artist, showing where to discover the hidden grottos and the best places to spot daffodils and bluebells.
