And various fundraising activities have raised an impressive £3,256.32 for the hospice.

Funds were raised from customer donations at till points, contributions at the water fountain, and purchases of the Rainbows Bell from the company’s Charity Bells display at Christmas.

A spokeswoman for Gates told the Melton Times: “Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People is an incredible charity that makes a real difference to the lives of children and families in our local community.

“As a family business, we are proud to support the vital work they do.

"Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us make a difference.”

Maria Thompson, community fundraiser with Rainbows, was delighted to receive a giant cheque from director Nigel Gates and members of the team.
