Melton’s new £100K play park to open on Friday
Children will get the chance to enjoy Melton’s exciting new destination play park from Friday.
A launch party will be held at the site, The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Play Close park, at 1pm.
New equipment including climbing frames, roundabouts, and zip wires which promote a more diverse range of play, are included at the new facility, which was funded by a £100,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.
The project came about following a campaign by town families who wanted ageing and uninspiring equipment replaced by modern pieces.
John Southerington, of Melton Town Estate, which collaborated with Melton Borough Council, Melton BID and Romaney Fugill Memorial Fund on the scheme, said: “This vital facility is going to make a real difference to those who use it, as well as the wider community of Melton Mowbray.”
