Top beverages will be served at 14th Melton beer and cider festival

The festival, run jointly by Melton branch of CAMRA (The Campaign For Real Ale) and Melton Mowbray Market, will be held at the Cattle Market from 11am until late both days.

This year the event boasts over 55 real ales and 20 plus cider and perrys with a mixture of local breweries and ones from further afield.

For the very first time, there will be vegan beers, real lager style ales, bottled non-alcoholic beers and ciders. Food is also available all day including pork pies and a curry stand.

Beers include a selection from Greater Manchester; two festival specials from Parrish brewery to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme and Newby Wyke brewery from Grantham are supplying their brew, HMS Quorn, to celebrate the ship’s recent award of the Freedom of the Borough.

Live music comes from Rainer and Real Monsters on Friday, and Govannen, Melstum Ukulele, Baron Lewis and Howard Rose.

Admission is £1 before 6pm and £5 after, with CAMRA members getting free entry before 6pm and £2 after.
