Tastings, talks, demonstrations and workshops to look forward to at Melton PieFest later this month
Visitors will enjoy all things pie-related, including sampling, buying, eating and even learning how to make their own pies.
A number of the UK’s awarding-winning pie makers will be at the event selling their pies, including past Supreme Champions of the British Pie Awards.

Hide AdPieFest will include talks, tastings, demonstrations and workshops on how to make the perfect pie.
There will also be a Pie Kitchen where visitors can eat hot pies - baked to perfection with a choice of mash, mushy peas, gravy, vegetables and a variety of accompaniments.
The Pie Theatre programme features talks on A History of Pies, How to Rate a Pie, Raising a Melton Mowbray Pork Pie and a ‘Pie Panel’ where visitors can put their pie and pastry queries to an expert panel of cooks and pie makers.
As well as lots of pies, you can expect cheese, beer, cakes, wine, chutneys, cider and more, plus entertainment.

Hide AdAs the home of the classic Melton Mowbray Pork Pie and the annual British Pie Awards, Melton Mowbray is regarded as the UK ‘Capital of Pies.’
Matthew O’Callaghan from the Melton Mowbray Food Partnership, organiser of PieFest 2018, said: “PieFest returns to Melton to celebrate all that’s great about British pie making.
“There will be almost ever flavour that you can think of, both sweet and savoury, from the iconic Melton Mowbray pork pies, meat and fish, through to vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.”
PieFest takes place at Melton Mowbray Market, on July 28 and 29, from 10am to 4pm. All of the stands will be undercover.
