Chocolate lovers set to flock to Melton Mowbray this weekend
Chocolate lovers will be heading to Melton Mowbray this coming weekend to enjoy the town’s final foodie event of the year.
ChocFest, which is now well established as one of the nation’s biggest chocolate festivals, takes place at the Stockyard, on the livestock market site, on Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the UK’s finest chocolatiers have signed up to attend the event, which runs from 10am to 4pm on both days and which will also feature live demonstrations and talks in the Chocolate Theatre.
Dozens of traders will be attending from around the country offering plenty of early Christmas gifts and treats.

Visitors can browse stands selling chocolate cakes, brownies, liqueurs, marshmallows, biscuits, macarons, donuts, crepes, ice cream, puddings and hot chocolate.
Organiser Matthew O’Callaghan commented: “There’s been considerable interest in this year’s ChocFest with coaches booking in and advance sales going well.
"There will be around 100 traders there with loads of different chocolate and other goodies on sale.
"One of our new traders produces adorable chocolate-based figures.
"We have members of the Ghana Cocoa Board coming to give that international flavour to the event as well as the usual Theatre Demonstrations and workshops.
"With kids going in free, it should be a great value day out for the family.”
We have drawn the winners of our competition which featured recently, offering five readers the chance to win two tickets each to the festival.
The following people were drawn out at random after correctly identifying at least two ingredients which go into making chocolate:
Dylan Pugh, of Queensway, Melton Mowbray; Julia Orton, of Snow Hill, Melton Mowbray; Michelle Ainge, of Brightside Avenue, Melton Mowbray; Sue Stephens, of Bowley Avenue, Melton Mowbray; Dan Sharp, of Redwood Avenue, Melton Mowbray.
You can also book places in advance on a workshop to make your own chocolates at the event.
An award-winning gospel choir will provide live entertainment along with other acts.
There will also be a wide variety of street food being served for those who get hungry during the festival.
