Cheese-lovers set to converge on Melton Mowbray
The five winners of last week’s Melton Times competition offering pairs of tickets to this weekend’s Artisan Cheese Fair have been drawn.
The popular annual celebration of cheese – one of the UK’s biggest – takes place on Saturday and Sunday at Melton Mowbray’s Stockyard, on the livestock market site.

We asked readers to name two of the ingredients which go into making cheese and all correct entries went into a hat to determine the five winners.
They are as follows: Dylan Pugh, of Melton Mowbray; Tim Travis, of Harby; Ruth Tudor, of Long Clawson; Carla Stapleton, of Asfordby; Andrea Lee, of Old Dalby.
In attendance this year will be around 40 leading British and Irish producers – who make hundreds of cheeses between them.
There is also a full programme of demonstrations and workshops, including one showing how to make your own cheese and a butter-making one for the kids.
In the food theatre, a chef/cheesemonger will demonstrate a recipe with cheese and a retailer will show you how to taste cheese with samples to be enjoyed.
Attendees will also get the opportunity to indulge in tastings sessions, with products like goat and sheep cheese.
As well as cheese, there will also be traditional Melton Mowbray pork pies, cider, cakes, beer, chocolate, wine, charcuterie, and much more, to taste and buy from the various stalls.
An award-winning gospel choir and other musicians will provide entertainment with a variety of street food also being sold.
The Artisan Cheese Fair is on from 10am to 4pm on both days.
