The theme for entries is ‘family life (with or without pets)’, with the best 12 snaps to be used in a charity calendar for local causes.

The best entry, chosen by a panel of judges, will win that photographer £75 and there are also £25 prizes for the best shots taken by those aged under 15 and entrants aged 15 and over.

Entries must be submitted by October 31 with the age category winners having their photograph in the calendar and the general public voting on the other images to be used via Facebook. Final decisions will be made by November 14.

Organiser Sabrina Tate said: “Hopefully we will get lots of entries for the competition.

“Photographs must be related to family life so they could include pets, gardens, relatives or anything to do with the home.

“It’s a chance for people to win a cash prize or to feature in a calendar to raise money for local causes.”

QR codes have been produced to enable entrants to use their mobile device to scan for an entry form and to get full terms and conditions.

These will be published in this week’s Melton Times, which is out on Thursday.
