Easter family activities lined up for Melton Mowbray's town parks

Lots of fun family activities are being lined up in Melton Mowbray over the Easter holidays.

One of the highlights will be The Great Easter Egg Hunt, on Saturday April 4, which Melton Mowbray Town Estate is hosting around the Bandstand in New Park, from 11am to 2pm.

The event promises an action-packed afternoon featuring a themed Easter trail, circus skills, and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

Children can join the Easter trail to follow clues leading to decorative eggs hidden around the park, with every participant who completes the trail receiving a chocolate egg.

For those with a keen eye, a special ‘Golden Egg’ hunt will also be held, with one lucky hunter winning a grand prize.

There will be lots going on beyond the egg hunt event, including a circus skills session, where youngsters can learn things like plate-spinning and hula-hooping.

A dedicated kids’ disco will be organised, along with DJ workshops featuring MC DJ Chuka.

Princess Elsa will be meeting and greeting children on site and there will also be Easter crafting sessions and face painting.

The Easter Bunny will be hopping around throughout the day, ready to take pictures and meet the kids.

Dean Rees, CEO of Melton Mowbray Town Estate, commented: “We can’t wait to see families and friends enjoying New Park this Easter.

“With tickets limited to 500 children, we encourage everyone to book early to avoid disappointment.”

Holland's Fun Fair will also be at Play Close Park over the Easter weekend, from April 2 to 6.

The Town Estate has been offered free tokens to give out as prizes for the Easter Egg hunt, which the winners can use to go on the rides at the fun fair for free.

Local caterers will be on-site, providing snacks and treats throughout the afternoon of the Easter Egg Hunt event.

Tickets are priced at £5.94 per child (up to age 10), while parents and guardians can attend it for free.
