The new GP appointment system was announced today for Long Clawson Surgery, Croxton Kerrial (Stackyard) Surgery and Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir Surgery, which are all part of the Vale Medical Group.

Existing appointments with doctors at these surgeries will still go ahead but all new appointments will be via telephone, in light of government guidance on the COVID-19 bug.

Dr Simon Wooding, a senior GP partner with the Vale Medical Group, said: “The practices will no longer be able to offer open access surgeries.

“We will instead be moving to a telephone first system for both routine and urgent access.

“Existing booked appointments are currently being honoured but if patients wish to convert these to telephone appointments instead, they are very welcome.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and we ask that our patients kindly bear with us as we make these changes.”
