Norfolk Police say she was one of dozens of people they took action against on the weekend of February 20/21 for flouting the government directives to stay at home and not make any unneccesary journeys.

The woman was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) as a result.

T/Superintendent Nathan Clark, of the Norfolk Constabulary, said: “Out of the 87 fines issued, 39 were given in Hunstanton, including a man and woman who had travelled from Hull for a walk, two men from Bury St Edmunds who went to film a music video, a man from Northamptonshire who went to walk his dogs and a woman from Melton Mowbray who travelled to visit the beach.”

Meanwhile, Melton Police issued six FPNs to people who had gathered for a party in Melton on Friday night.

PCSO Jake Spruce posted on Twitter: “Officers attended an illegal gathering on Drummond Walk.

“6 adults were inside a house where only 2 lived.

“A support bubble is not 4 friends round to enjoy a hot tub and alcohol.

“All 6 were issued with FPNs. Let’s wait until we can all celebrate safely, together.”
