Covid deaths pass 1,000 at Leicester hospitals
That sad figure, which includes more than 80 in the last week, was confirmed today (Wednesday) by the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
The most serious cases are treated at city hospitals in their intensive care units.

Hide AdA spokesperson for the trust said: “Sadly, we can confirm that 1,012 patients being cared for at our hospitals, and who had tested positive for Covid-19, have died.
“84 of those deaths have been announced since last Wednesday January 20.
“The ages of the patients ranged between those in their 30s to those in their 90s.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the patients at this very difficult and distressing time.”
