Village school pupils raise hundreds of pounds for Comic Relief
Pupils at one of the Melton area’s smallest primary schools are celebrating raising hundreds of pounds for Comic Relief.
Harby Church of England Primary School’s children took part in a wide range of fundraising challenges, including litter picking, times tables practice, learning new pieces of music on the piano, reading, walking, running and bike riding.

And the staff got involved too with Mrs Katie Ford bravely roller skating around the school to raise money towards the final total of £545.
Headteacher, Bridget Bye, and her staff, expressed how proud they are of the children’s commitment to helping others and working together to make a difference.
As a small rural school with just 66 pupils, the school community is incredibly proud of the children’s enthusiasm, dedication, and creativity in supporting the charity.
Pupils took part in a wide range of sponsored activities, showcasing their individuality and determination.
James did a bike ride, Megan went on a walk, Maddison carried out a litter pick, Joe did a run, Henry learned new music, Isaac did his times tables and Edith performed a reading.
A spokesperson for Harby Church of England Primary School commented: “Their hard work represents the spirit of Harby C of E Primary School: caring, community‑minded, and determined to make a positive impact.
“The school would like to thank pupils, families, and staff for their support in raising money for such an important charity.”
The national Comic Relief event – also known as Red Nose Day – raised around £30M to support children and adults facing tough times in the UK and abroad.
