Another village primary school has confirmed that someone there has tested positive for coronavirus.

It is unclear at this stage whether the person with Covid at St Peter’s CofE Primary School at Wymondham is a pupil, a teacher or another member of staff.

Jackie Johnston, chair of governors for the school, said: “We can confirm that an individual at St Peter’s Wymondham CE Primary School has tested positive for coronavirus.

“Keeping our pupils, staff and local communities safe is our highest priority.

“We have followed government guidance and taken all of the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus and protect our pupils and staff.

“We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England’s Local Health Protection Team.”

The school is this week on half-term.

A positive coronavirus case was also reported recently at both Sherard Primary School in Melton and Croxton Kerrial Primary School.

A teacher and a student at Brooksby Melton College also contracted Covid last month.
