Having watched from the side-line as their peers in Year 13 experienced

the agony and ecstacy associated with last week’s A Level results, the Year 11 class of 2020 have achieved excellent results this year.

The College is very pleased with this year’s overall pass rate of 99.5%, of which all grades were 4 or better and 47% of all grades were 7/8/9.

Headmaster, Mr Jonathan Reddin, commented: “I am thrilled for our Year 11 students who have achieved outstanding results at the end of such a tumultuous year for them. They have had to manage so much uncertainty with respect to their GCSE grades throughout lockdown, and the past week of announcements will only have served to heighten their anxiety. We are incredibly proud of the resilience and fortitude shown by this cohort, and I wish to thank them all for their unstinting support of the School over many years, both in the classroom and beyond.

On behalf of the students and the School, I would also like to pay tribute to their teachers who have worked in harness with the School to ensure that this year’s GCSE students have achieved the grades they truly deserved. We look forward to the year group’s continued success as they begin the next phase of their education in our Sixth Form. For those students moving onto pastures new, we wish them every happiness and success.”

A special mention goes to Elise Atkinson, Marley Totton, Annie Rose Reddin and Rachel Astill who achieved grade 9s and grade 8s in all of their subjects, with Elise achieving grade 9s in all 11 of her subjects. Congratulations also to Sam Moss who achieved 6 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and 1 grade 7.
