David carries the flame into school
OLYMPIC torchbearer David Newton fired young imaginations when he visited Old Dalby School.
In preparation of his visit the children had made their own torches which they waved when Mr Newton, from Asfordby, walked into the school hall.
Mr Newton, a St John Ambulance stalwart and marathon runner, answered many questions about his day carrying the torch.
Headteacher Steve Cliff said: “He allowed every child and member of staff to hold his torch. It was a very memorable day.”
