Covid case reported at village school near Melton
A village primary school near Melton has today (Friday) reported that someone there has tested positive for coronavirus.
The school says it has taken action to prevent further spread of the virus with a small number of individuals in the affected person’s bubble being sent home to self-isolate.
Helen Sykes, chair of governors, said: “We can confirm that an individual at Croxton Kerrial CE Primary School has tested positive for coronavirus.
“Keeping our pupils, staff and local communities safe is our highest priority.
“We have followed government guidance and taken all of the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus and protect our pupils and staff.
“We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England’s local health protection team.”
