Memorial service to be held for popular former Long Clawson farmer
A memorial service is to be held for popular former Long Clawson farmer Brian Wiles, who has passed away aged 85.
Brian was also a director of both Long Clawson Dairy and Central Wool Growers before retiring 25 years ago.

He died on December 10 and a memorial service will take place at St Mary the Virgin Church, Harby, at noon on Friday January 9.
Brian’s son, Andrew, who runs Clawson-based Brinvale Bird Foods, told the Melton Times: “He was born into a farming family and he went into it as soon as he left school.
"He was proud of his connection to Long Clawson Dairy and he was also a family man.”
Brian attended the village primary school and Melton Modern Boys School and lived his whole life in Long Clawson.
He met wife of 64 years, Janet, at a young farmers’ club meeting and the couple were married at All Saints Church, at Asfordby. She passed away a year ago aged 87.
The couple had a daughter, Sally, as well as Andrew.
Brian doted on his four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them during his retirement years.
He also played golf in his spare time at local clubs, including Melton Mowbray.
Andrew added: “Dad really enjoyed being a dairy farmer and producing milk for Long Clawson Dairy.
"His dad was a former chairman of the dairy and his brother was too so there was a strong connection with it.”
Friends and former colleagues are welcome to attend the memorial service and the reception event afterwards at Long Clawson village hall.
