Invites go out to beneficiaries for Ragdale Hall Community Chest presentation evening
Invites have gone out now to all the successful beneficiaries of this year’s Ragdale Hall Community Chest to our presentation evening next month.
This is the 18th year the Melton Times has partnered with the award-winning spa, which is again putting up a £10k funding pot to support local charities, community groups, schools and sports clubs.

The presentation evening will be held at Ragdale on the evening of Tuesday June 9, when we look forward to hearing about the moving and inspiring stories of those who give so much to others, often in a voluntary capacity.
In the meantime, we are continuing to look at the 75 applications who sought a share of this year’s fund.

Melton Mowbray Air Cadets 1279 Sqn ATC requested £500 to help buy a life-saving Defib Kit for use by their 60 cadets and leaders and to be taken activities and events.
A donation of £500 was also sought by Melton Mencap, a charity which supports children, young people and adults, and their families, with learning disabilities and autism, to help buy a replacement specialist height-adjustable changing bed. Their Chapel Street HQ is a registered Changing Places location so it would be used by the whole community as well as members.
Oasis Pre-school and Retreat asked for £300 to create 20 ‘family wellbeing packs’, with each containing a book, sensory items and relaxing activity ideas, to support the children and their parents.
A donation of £500 is requested by Friends of Frisby Primary School PTA to help create a small wellness garden for the benefit of the mental health of the school’s 100 pupils.
Money towards a special bus outing was sought by Drop in Club Melton Mowbray, which is for isolated local people aged over 55 to meet every Friday for a chat. The money would fund a trip to celebrate this year’s 50th anniversary of the club being formed.
Ashmount Riding for the Disabled and Carriage Driving Group wanted £100 for new lead ropes with leather couplings and safety stirrups to help young people to ride at the centre, which is based at Normanton-on-Soar and supports many families from the Melton area.
