Anna Pollard and Selina West, co-directors of The Dog House Leicester, in Barkby Thorpe, are putting together a number of attractions aimed at dog owners during this Covid-19 stay-at-home period enforced by the Government.

Anna said: “It is business as usual for us at the moment.

“However, we appreciate that things are likely to slow down for us leaving our clients at home with a super excited dog who is getting knottier by the day.

“Our aim is to put together a suite of videos and free resource in this difficult time that people can dip into and engage with their dogs from brain games, with subjects ranging from desensitisation to at home brushing and how to prepare your dog for teeth cleaning.

She said: “We have spoken to other local doggy businesses too who are going to get involved and talk about their business and what they do and how they can help others in this time of need.”

Selina said: “We’re also offering to help out the local community with anything dog related, if it’s pet food deliveries or a friendly voice to chat too if people are stuck in the rural communities on their own.

“We’re here to help.

“It seems now more than ever we need to rally together and keeping supporting each other as well as small businesses so that when everything to begins to form a new version of normal we’ll still be there and hopefully lots of other small businesses will be too.”

The salon, which last year was named one of the best rural businesses in the country and was invited to appear on BBC Countryfile, can be contacted on Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/2765380270184544/ or by telephone at 07467 394567.
