A 19-year-old business owner in Melton Mowbray has not only opened her own multi-service beauty salon but is also giving back to the community by offering free work experience placements to students from local SEN schools.

Samantha Miller opened The Beaute HQ at 5 Wilton Road at just 19-years-old, turning her passion for beauty into a growing business that now employs a team of five.

After starting her journey in beauty while still in school, Samantha progressed from working from home to renting chairs before taking the leap to open her own salon premises in Melton Mowbray

Since opening, The Beaute HQ has become a busy local hub offering nails, brows, eyelashes, facials, aesthetics, hair services and many more! A one stop salon to clients across Leicestershire.

Alongside building her business, Samantha felt strongly about creating opportunities for young people in the community, particularly students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), who can sometimes face barriers accessing real-world work experience.

The salon now provides free placements, giving students the chance to build confidence, learn customer service skills and experience working within a supportive team environment.

“I know how important it is to be given an opportunity early on,” Samantha says. “If I can create a safe, encouraging space where students feel capable and valued, then that’s something I’m really proud of.”

Samantha hopes her journey shows that age should never be a barrier to ambition, and that small businesses can make a meaningful difference locally.

The Beaute HQ continues to grow, with plans for expansion, further education opportunities and continued community involvement in 2026.
