Elmesthorpe Brewery revealed this week that it planned to open a new pub in the town although it is not saying where exactly it will be.

The company say they will trade from an ‘extremely characterful’ Grade Two listed building in the town and that it will be called the Crafty Pizza Co.

Owners Nirad and Payal Solanki already run three pubs in Leicestershire, in Hinckley, Stoney Stanton and Leicester city centre.

They specialise in serving stone-baked pizzas and the brewery’s own craft beers, as well as mainstream popular pints.

Nirad told the Melton Times: “Melton was always a target for us being a Leicestershire-based company.

“We are hoping to start trading there by the end of May and our customers will be able to enjoy our stone-baked pizzas, our craft beers and a few Italian and American beers.

“The business will create 12 to 15 new jobs and we will also be offering delivery and takeaway services.

“We don’t want to say where the pub will be at present for business reasons but we will let everyone in Melton know where it is in the near future.”

Pubs and restaurants can serve customers in outside areas from April 12 and then indoors on May 17, if Covid infections are under control on those dates.
