The annual event - to be held on March 2 (9.30am to 3pm) at the National Space Centre in Leicester - will provide an insight into plans for local and national tourism in 2016 including ways for local organisations to get involved in new projects, initiatives and campaigns, and to grow their business.

The tourism forum will also feature updates from Leicester Shire Promotions, VisitEngland – the national tourism body, and sector plans from the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) for tourism and the creative industries. There will also be an opportunity to join industry-led workshops dedicated to sharing best practice for all tourism businesses.

Martin Peters, chief executive of Leicester Shire Promotions, said: “The annual tourism forum is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to learn more about the range of services and initiatives available to support their development. They can also share best practice ideas with industry peers from the city, county and beyond to help them to further improve the quality of the experience that they provide to visitors, enhance their reputation and consequently, grow their business.

“Last year over 100 local tourism organisations attended and many say it’s an essential event for those in the industry and I urge everyone to come along.”
