Deadline approaching for Melton businesses to get grant funding

Deadline is approaching for applications for financial assistance for businesses in the Melton borough through the Small Business Grants and the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants Fund.

Applicants have until August 21 to contact Melton Borough Council if they believe they qualify for a payment through the government schemes, which provide support during the coronavirus crisis.

The council has already paid out more than £10.8 million to around 940 businesses through the various grant funds.

Councillor Leigh Higgins, deputy leader and portfolio holder for growth and prosperity, said: “We know there are still some businesses in the borough who may be eligible for the Small Business Grant and Retail Hospitability and Leisure Grant schemes that are yet to apply.

“I encourage all of them to submit their applications to us before August 21 to ensure we can get the payments out to them before the end of the scheme on August 28.”

Go online at www.melton.gov.uk/here4melton/business if you believe you are entitled to a payment from the Small Business Grants Fund or the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants Fund and submit your application before 11.59pm on August 21.
