The production has been written by Tayo Aluko. and will highlight how Paul Robeson’s activism caused him to be disowned and disremembered. It features some famous songs, speeches, and a spectacularly defiant testimony to the Senate House Un-American Activities Committee, including a dramatic rendition of Ol’ Man River.

The show has been put on by Village Ventures the rural and community touring organisation. The programme is co-ordinated by Live and Local and funded by Arts Council England and Nottinghamshire’s County Council.
