The annual Macmillan sponsored horse ride takes place later this year in the grounds of Belvoir Castle on Sunday, April 23rd.

Riders can enjoy 15 miles of glorious countryside and raise money for the charity.

The route goes through grounds not normally accessible to the general public and is made possible thanks to the support of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland.

The annual event is organised by Christine Griffin and Brenda Greaves and the Melton branch of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Around 150 riders took part in last year’s event which raised over £8,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

This year’s event starts from 9am-11.30am and is entry is £20 to everyone aged 13 and above.

Applications are limited so people need to get them in as soon as possible for this year’s ride. A silver cup will be presented to the person who collects the most amount of sponsorship.
