Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (12A)Reunited with The Last Samurai director Edward Zwick, Tom Cruise reprises his role as the mysterious avenger, Jack Reacher. Adapted from the 18th book in the series by acclaimed novelist Lee Child, Never Go Back sees Reacher return to his old military unit – the closest thing he ever had to a home. Once there, he finds that its new commanding officer Susan Turner (Smulders, The Avengers) has suddenly gone AWOL. To make matters worse, Reacher is arrested for a 16-year-old murder. After dispatching his captors in a typically robust manner, he sets out to right the wrongs he and Turner are accused of – facing some dark truths about his past in the process. Zwick keeps the action rolling at an agreeably hectic pace and Cruise again proves perfect as the volatile vigilante. The Girl On The Train (15) This irresistible thriller is based on Paula Hawkins’s bestselling novel. Emily Blunt (Sicario) stars as Rachel, who daydreams about an imaginary ‘perfect couple’ living in one of the beautiful homes that she sees every day from the train. But one day, as she looks through the window, she sees something shocking happen in the house, and a mystery starts to unfold. Friday and Sunday at 8.30pm and Sunday at 1.30pm.

Miss Peregrine’s Home (12A) Visionary director Tim Burton and versatile screenwriter Jane Goldman (The Woman In Black, Kick-Ass) are the ideal couple to bring Ransom Riggs’s cult young adult bestseller to the big screen, with Burton’s quirky imagination soaring to the skies in this gothic spectacular. When a lonely teenager called Jake (Butterfield, Hugo) discovers clues that seem to unlock mysterious alternative realities, he also uncovers a hidden establishment known as Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children. As well as getting chummy with its decidedly peculiar residents and getting to grips with their various abilities, Jake learns from Miss Peregrine (Green, Casino Royale) that danger lurks everywhere.
